Starting something new can be challenging, but with perseverance, it can be done.

Linda Dawkins, a freelance writer, recently changed her career path at the age of 53.

A life-long music lover who decided that change was necessary and she can still do what she loves!

This isn’t the story of a podcast … it’s a story of time and change. Or simply put… it was time for a change.

She joined AliveShoes.com and designed her first pair of shoes. She called it EMLIFATI , conveniently named after one of her long existing Facebook pages called “Empress Linda’s Fashion Time.”

She cleverly used the first two letters of each word on her Facebook page. which, to her surprise, turned out Amazingly! Could you imagine her excitement when it all made sense?

To actually find an otherwise excellent use of a page. So she stored all things Fashion related that she found to be Fashion worthy and interesting on the internet.

Now here comes the cool part: not only does she design custom-made shoes made in Italy by the AliveShoes professional footware crafts, but she now has a podcast on Spotify called That’s Love For You Podcast.

You can find the link to her podcast at the top of the page!

You can also donate to support her podcast at the above link.

The most important thing that needs to be said is that she is donating all of the money earned from the sale of her first design, (a custom made, unisex design, sandal that was inspired by the desert of Las Vegas), to charities that are helping the people of Ukraine during this time of war.

You can listen to Linda or as she prefers to be called Empress Linda on Spotify

Fashion Forward

What’s the one thing I’ve always wanted to do?

I would like to think that I’m a simple person. I don’t really need or want much. As long as I have the basics in life. Food, clothing, a roof overhead. I was thinking that if I waited to pursue what I want in life that it would eventually manifest itself and come.

Well, that might work in fairy-tale land. But who’s to say that it may not have happened to someone before. Or may even happen to someone sometime soon?

I often wondered that If I get that job I’d be ok. Yep! I just might be ok … If I worked hard for that company until I earn a decent living. Work long enough to gain some PTO, (Paid Time Off), then take an amazing vacatio somewhere. Get away, go someplace that I haven’t ever been. But things like that don’t ever happen that way. They always lead to something else.

Some of my friends tell me that I wasted my life by not using my youth to explore the world.

I tell them that I Do want to explore the world. Then we’d go back and forth on “Why I haven’t done it yet?” or “What am I waiting for?” or I would plainly say, “I can’t., I don’t have any money.” I’ve told myself ALL OF THIS crap and It Doesn’t help at all.

So let’s get right to the source of the question. Which is a problem. “What’s the One Thing I’ve Always Wanted To Do?”

That’s a tough question to answer. I want to do so much. So much more than what I’m doing now and I am not alone.

The After Pandemic Blues seems to be a real thing. I was thinking that getting back to normal should be fun! So I began searching the internet for opportunities. By opportunities I mean, I considered taking surveys online, playing games, (that pay…or using apps that pay to play certain games and only play Those games… that pay…). Believe me, there are plenty! A person can easily earn a passive income if they’re consistent with their scheduling of game time. . Making the best use of free time. They say time is money.

While on some games, I’m shown 30 second advertisements and some of them are pretty darned good but I would sometimes click on some them to see what they’re talking about or what they have to offer.

I clicked on several advertisements before one particular advertisement that brought me to sit up in my seat. It said ” Become A Shoe Designer! Design and Sell Your Own Brand!” Would you click on it? I did.

Why did I click?

I Always wanted to be a fashion designer and always thought that I had great fashion sense. I have dabbled in modeling, creating my own outfits and jewelry. I just never considered trying shoe design as a career changer. Yet here I am!

Of course as with every dream there are some hurdles to jump in order to get to the finish line. Well, I’m on my mark! Getting Set …and Going!,

…Again…

Yes, I’m starting over… Again. I have that question to answer. “What’s the One Thing I’ve Always Wanted To Do?”

To answer that, I have to at least finish something. Which I did.

I clicked that link!

So one day I clicked that AliveShoes link. I submitted my application. The next day I recieved notification that I was accepted as a new designer. I spent the remainder of that day celebrating my excitement with my friends and family on Facebook. That evening, I sat down to begin working on a few initial designs, I came up with the idea of calling my brand EMLIFATI.

EMLIFATI FOOTWARE… sounds good to me. Oh just in case you’d like to know what it stands for and how I came up with it. It is the first two letters of my Facebook Page Empress Linda FashionTime’s.. It’s Everything Fashion worthy.

EMpress LInda FAshion TIme… EM-LI-FA-TI !

A unique name for a unique one of a kind sandal. This sandal will be ready for launch this Spring and I’m definitely excited and can’t wait for my sandal design to be put on sale.

I was so overjoyed that evening that I created a custom sneaker as well that I may launch before Summer ’22. That was the very first design that I submitted on the AliveShoes network using the Free Account.

I recieved confirmation that the shoe design that I submitted was received and that they will have “A Look at my design and notify me on whether or not they will approve of my design within 24 hours.” Or something to that affect.

I was left with a sinking feeling of, “Oh Well” I tried,” kind of feeling then went to sleep.

The following morning, I checked my email. Surprised by the Huge Congratulatory email of Approval and my design being chosen by AliveShoes “Staff Pick”!! Boy was I Amazed!

My design was accepted! Not only that, my design was selected as a “Staff Pick” !!!

Now how often does That happen? Th first pair of shoes submitted becoming a STAFF PICK!!! You know what that means? It meant that I am well o. My way to be a top fashion designer, in the footware industry. And guess what? My first pair of shoes, After they launch will be free! Almost immediately or within a two years, I changed careers, I designed my first pair of designer custom made Italian sandal call EMLIFATI . Now, I’m anticipating the launch of my design.

Now if That doesn’t belong on my list of things that I’ve Always Wanted To Do, then I don’t know what else I could add there besides become as successful as I can possibly be.
